My thoughts on the choir for the future

As we have pasted the half-way mark for 2010 I was looking at those boys that are turning 16 this year they are both in October that is Josh and Sam. I know there is a tour planned for the Philippines later this year and that will be the last tour for these two boys (and also for Jonathan who turns 16 in January). I know Josh will continue to help the choir in the background since his little brother Matthew has joined the choir. In 2011 Daniel, Ben and Liam will turn 15 giving us followers at least until 2012 before they leave. Prizeman is getting the younger boys a role into being a soloist which is a great idea as the older boys will not be able to sing much longer on those really high notes. From the Arundel concert we saw about fives new faces in the choir promising more new singers to this outstanding choir.

Understudy soloists on USA Tour

As I have been watching on other websites there Prizeman is going to start using understudy's as soloists while on tour in the United States this summer. There might be some alternate soloist while touring in the United States this should be an excellent tour I can not wait to see which boy's will be used maybe those who sang the solo's on the Peace Album. I am sure the boy's will be tired after touring the United States in under eighteen days for probably six cities.

Summer Tour in USA

"We are pleased to announce that we plan to visit the USA this Summer. We expect to perform concerts in Dallas, St Louis, Nashville, Atlanta and elsewhere in the south and midwest.

The dates for the tour are 27th July to 13th August. More information will be coming soon, including venues, exact dates and times, as well as a couple more cities.

We are very excited at the prospect of sharing our music with long standing and more recent supporters in the US, and we look forward to making new friends too."

After thinking about the big six week summer holiday break from late July through all of August I strongly believe sometime during that time is when they will be coming to America. This as a tradition in England to have their annual choir holiday. I am watching all websites and Libera so as soon as I find out offically I will let all of you know!

Stefan Leadbeater Solo on major film!

Film Music Festival in Krakow, Poland

"He is a Music Scholar at Trinity School, Croydon, and a senior member of Trinity Boys Choir. He has appeared in Tosca at the Royal Opera House and covered the Boy Soprano role in George Crumb’s Ancient Voices of Children for the BBCSO in last year’s Barbican concert. Stefan is also a principal soloist for the Christian boys choir ‘Libera’ and appears in their latest release Deep Peace. Stefan studies singing with Timothy Penrose and the trumpet with Colin Craft."  (Film Festival)
You can hear them acknowledging Stefan around 6:19.

(you will hear Stefan around 2:07)

(Week ending Friday 28th May 2010)
From the Headmaster

"In contrast, last weekend Stefan Leadbeater (1L) starred as the treble soloist in a live performance of the soundtrack to ‘Lord of the Rings: Return of the King’ in front of a sold out audience of 5000 people at the Krakow International Film Festival in Poland. The critically acclaimed composer of the music for all three Lord of the Rings films, Howard Shore, was in attendance, and was very pleased with Stefan’s solo role. The film was projected onto a giant screen, and the soundtrack was synchronised and performed live by a huge symphony orchestra and massed choir. Stefan was given a fantastic ovation by the audience as he was beckoned to the podium by both the conductor and the composer at the end of the film."

Tom Cully making it big!!!

Fantastic news about Tom Cully!!!

He has created his own site on MySpace. Tom sings the following songs:
1. Cashmere  2. Scarborough Fair cover tryout 3.Until the End of Time cover

Here you can hear his music he composes and records in his bedroom!

"My names Tom Cully, I'm a 15 year old Singer/Songwriter. I compose a lot of classical music but I also like singing covers and making them into voice based songs, rather than the instruments driving it. Being a previous member of Libera I've now progressed on and am currently studying music at The Brit school. I record in my bedroom and really just find it an escape to everyday life. The songs I write are normally about the stresses of a teenage love life and the clichés that go with it."
