Choir Member of the Week

Kavana Crossley

Joined: 2006

Birthdate: December 1998

Age: 10

Description: Kavana was first introduced singing in the 2006 Angel Voices Album and New Dawn in 2008. His first appearance though was seen in April of 2008 in their US concert tour. From there he was with the group for all their concert appearance. He had a short and small part in one of the concerts where he made the tra! ditional “thanks for coming” address just before singing their final song. For those who are unsure, his name is pronounced with a long 'a' in the middle of his name. Kavana spends his time away from the choir playing his computer games, being with his friends and doing his homework. His nickname is Kav.

Information:
Ben joined Libera in early 2006 shortly after his 10th birthday. Since then, he has been featured as a main member of Libera and appears alongside soloists Tom Cully, Michael Horncastle, etc. In February 2007, Ben got his very first solo, Lacrymosa. He also sang with Joshua Madine and Tom Cully in one of Libera's most famous songs, Going Home in the Angel Voices-Libera in Concert DVD.He also sings solos in The Lamb and Jerusalem on the album New Dawn.

From checking other Libera fan websites it seems that the choir is starting to change. A few boys have left the choir and have not made no appearance with the choir since May. Also Tom Cully with his voice starting to brake (from what some forums are saying) and is now singing in the back row of the choir (Celtic Tour) this summer. The offical Libera website has just released a new video entitled "Gloria" and includes pictures of their Celtic Tour. A new choir boy has joined his name is Matthew Rangel-Alvares and sings very high notes on the Cletic Tour.

Autumn Concert Tours

The Libera Choir will be performing for the first time in the Phillipines on October 25, 2009. The event will be at the Phillipines International Convention Center. More information but this tour and others will follow in Spetember.

Description: Thomas Cully has been part of the Libera legend since he was 7, singing his first feature on the 2002 “Songs of Praise” video "There is a Green Hill" with fellow chorister Michael Horncastle. Almost straight away Tom established himself as a proficient singer of the high notes, a task he particularly enjoys and regards as play instead of work. Tom's voice first figures prominently on Libera's 2004 album “Free” where he can be heard to good effect on "Stay With Me" and "I Am The Day" hitting an astonishing top C to end the song. Libera's 2005 release "Visions" sees Tom taking a more prominent role in the group. He shares solo duties on "Sempiterna" with Joe Sanders-Wilde and on "We are the lost" with Michael Horncastle but more importantly "Visions" also sees Tom given a solo of his own for the first time with the joint Prizeman/Crawley composition of “Always With You”. From this point Tom became one of Libera's principal soloists and the release of the "Angel Voices" album in 2006 provided Tom with solo parts on "Going Home", a new recording of "Salva Me" and a hauntingly beautiful version of the carol “Silent Night”. Outside of Libera and the St Philip's Church Choir, where he sings regularly at the Sunday services, Tom's great passion is his local football club Crystal Palace F.C. It seems certain that Tom will be a mainstay of Libera for many years to come.
